Community gets ready to “Walk4Hearing”
Members of the Hearing Loss Association of America were at Mercy College to kick off their annual Walk4Hearing over the weekend.
This is the group’s largest fundraiser to help those with hearing loss. The actual walk takes place on May 13 in Yorktown Heights.
The fundraiser is one of over 20 walks taking place across the country to support the millions of Americans with hearing loss. "It's overwhelming for the community to support us. Over 20 percent of the US population is hearing impaired," says Steve Wolfert, of Walk4Hearing.
Organizers hope the walks raise over $1.4 million across the country.
