A member of an Orange County fire department is under investigation after allegedly trying to meet an underage girl for sex.
The encounter was recorded and posted to Facebook Live by self-proclaimed community watchdog Tony Blas, who runs a Facebook group called “ Team Loyalty Makes You Family.” The group aims to expose alleged pedophiles, with Blas and a decoy interacting as teenagers online.
Blas says 57-year-old Glenn Keenan reached out to a decoy on his team, pretending to be 14 and sending sexual messages online.
"He messaged. She let him know automatically I'm not 18, I'm really 14 and he had no problem with that," says Blas.
Keenan is a social member of the Coldenham Fire Department in Walden, and does not respond to calls for the department.
Blas says Keenan spent a week texting the decoy before meeting in Sullivan County.
He says Keenan planned to meet the girl on Saturday. Instead, Blas showed up.
Blas gave News 12 screenshots between the two where the 57-year-old allegedly writes about not wanting to get the teen pregnant and asks what she wants to learn.
The married Wallkill father of two apologized on camera several times for "what he was about to do," but for Blas, who was sexually abused himself as a child, it's not enough.
"I'm there to shame these guys," he says.
Keenan is on administrative leave while it investigates the allegations.
