The cleanup continues in hard-hit Port Chester as it recovers from Ida.
The village's Department of Public Works says it collected more than 3,000 cubic yards of bulk left at residents' homes since Ida poured 6 inches of a water an hour on the densely populated village.
While the cleanup continues, village officials have their eyes on the future.
"It's been several years since the village has taken a hard look at its storm water management, and we are going to start doing that now especially after Ida," Port Chester Village Manager Stuart Rabin.
Port Chester officials are encouraging residents with property damage to file a claim with FEMA or by calling 1-800-621-3362.
