A female victim was stabbed multiple times and a male suspect is in custody, the City of Mount Vernon said Saturday evening.

It occurred at 535 S 8th Avenue.

The victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi to be treated for injuries that are not life-threatening.
