The Bronx's own City Island has been named New York City's "Neighborhood of the Year" for 2014.
The island oasis received the coveted award from the website "Curbed Cup," which called it the best place in the city to call home.
At only one mile long and a quarter of a mile wide, the charm of City Island is a unique one for a metro area. It's known for its views of the Long Island Sound, Victorian homes and more than 30 eateries, with seafood being the specialty.
City Island, which has won the title once before, beat out Long Island City in Queens during a tough final round.
