News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Meredith Garofalo says it will be a sunny, cold and dry start to the new workweek before wintry mix arrives on Thursday and Friday.
NEW: Models continue to trend rainy and windy for Thursday and Friday, making quite the mess for holiday travel. The Hudson Valley could see a little mix or some snow for the northwest parts of the Hudson Valley later in the day Friday.
NOW: Colder than average to start the week but dry with the exception of a few brief snow showers.
NEXT: WEATHER TO WATCH - Thursday-Friday for the next storm system.
FORECAST:
OVERNIGHT: Cold and breezy. Lows in the 20s with feels like in the teens.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny and windy. Highs in the upper-30s and lows in the 20s. Feels-like temperatures below freezing.
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny, dry and cold. Highs in the upper-30s and lows in the 20s.
WEDNESDAY: A mix of sun and clouds. Highs in the upper-30s and lows in the 20s.
THURSDAY: WEATHER TO WATCH - Mostly cloudy with a chance for rain or winter precipitation to the northwest later in the day. Highs in the mid-40s.
FRIDAY: WEATHER TO WATCH - Windy and wet with rain likely. Highs could reach the 50s. A mix of snow possible overnight Friday.
NEXT WEEKEND: Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will bring the coldest air of the season. A mix of clouds with highs generally in the 20s and lows in the teens.
