Three separate incidents of child luring in Rockland County have parents on high alert.
Police say one incident occurred in Orangetown, while a different man tried to lure children at two locations in Clarkstown.
Clarkstown police told News 12 that a man in a light-colored SUV, possibly with a roof rack, approached a boy and motioned for him to come over to his vehicle Wednesday. The boy ran away and told his parents.
Police also received a report of a similar incident, happening the same day on nearby North Edsall Avenue. The boy ran home and parents contacted police. A search failed to find a suspect.
Earlier this year, Clarkstown police investigated another apparent attempt to lure children at a playground at Highview Elementary School. They also had reports of possible luring attempts in West Nyack.
In this latest incident, police don't have any firm leads.
Police in Orangetown say the incident there does not appear to be connected to the one in Clarkstown.
