Child endangerment case delayed for parents, grandfather of abducted girl found in stairwell

The Ulster County parents accused of abducting and hiding their daughter beneath a staircase during a custody battle have been granted an adjournment until September.

The Ulster County parents accused of abducting and hiding their daughter beneath a staircase during a custody battle have been granted an adjournment until September.  
Saugerties officials confirm that the case against 6-year-old Paislee Shultis’ parents and paternal grandfather was put on hold during a court appearance yesterday. 
Kimberly and Kirk Shultis are charged with custodial interference and endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly taking the girl in 2019 from her maternal grandmother,who has custody. 
Kirk’s father, Kirk Shultis Sr., is also facing charges. 
Paislee Shultis was found in February - allegedly being hid from police inside a makeshift box beneath the family’s stairwell inside their home on Fawn Road.  
Kimberly and Kirk Shultis are due back in Saugerties Town Court Sept. 14 at 2 p.m. 
An attorney for the family has not immediately responded to News 12's requests for comment.
