Chase involving stolen police car ends in Hudson Valley

A chase involving a stolen police cruiser that started in Schenectady ended in the Hudson Valley on Monday.
Schenectady Police Department reported that one of its marked patrol SUVs was stolen from Ellis Hospital by a subject they had transported to the facility for an evaluation.
Police say Ricky Izarry, 43, of Schenectady, got on the NYS Thruway southbound and was followed by a helicopter from the NYS Police Aviation Unit.
The pursuit continued into Ulster County, where an Ulster County Sheriff's Deputy rendered the cruiser immobile by successfully deploying a tire deflation device.
Izarry is facing multiple charges including grand larceny, unlawfully fleeing a police officer, and several vehicle and traffic law charges.
