Irvington kicked off Juneteenth celebrations at the Main Street School on Saturday.
Organizers said now that it is a federally protected holiday, this year's celebrations were extra meaningful.
There were vendors, music and a variety of foods at the event.
Attendees reflected on the holiday as well as celebrated it.
This was the Juneteenth Committee's Third annual event in Irvington.
Vendors featured many Black-owned products as well as Black artists.
