As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, News 12 features Dr. Frank Sánchez, the first Latino president of Manhattanville College.
Dr. Sánchez's Mexican roots have significantly influenced his career in higher education.
Raised in Wyoming, he has deep ties to his Mexican heritage, with his mother hailing from a migrant farming family. Both of his parents overcame adversity to achieve college educations.
Dr. Sánchez's career has taken him to higher education institutions across the country, where he has championed initiatives promoting equity and diversity. He takes the helm of Manhattanville College this year, as the student population is now 39% Hispanic.
