A Yonkers deli owner has beef with the burglar who took a slice of his profits early Tuesday morning.
The thief stole hundreds of dollars from the register, according to Filippo Avitabile.
Police say the alarm went off at 2:15 a.m. at the Italian Deli on Yonkers Avenue. Investigators are looking to see if anything else was taken from the store, and no arrests have been made.
Avitabile says the thief climbed through a window. He says he thinks the thief used a flower pot from a garden behind the store to help get in.
"The cops called me," he says, explaining how he learned of the break-in.
Avitabile opened up for business anyway, and he says he's glad to have the support of loyal customers.
