Carrot Top Country Kitchen recalls hummus due to undeclared sesame

The agency says any customer who has an allergy or a severe sensitivity to sesame could have a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product.

Carrot Top Kitchen recalled five varieties of its hummus due to undeclared sesame, the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection Food and Standards Division says.

The hummus varieties involved in the recall are the following:

  • Lemon Garlic Hummus

  • Lime Ginger Hummus

  • White Truffle Hummus

  • Sundried Tomato and Caper Hummus

  • Cherry Pepper Hummus

The agency says any customer who has an allergy or a severe sensitivity to sesame could have a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product.

No illnesses have been reported yet.

The recalled products were distributed to Rochambeau Farm Store in Bedford, NY and were sold at farmers markets in Connecticut.

Carrot Top Kitchens is currently based in Bridgeport, CT but was previously located in Redding, CT.

Customers who purchased the impacted hummus are urged to return them for a full refund.
