Career fair held in Yonkers for people with disabilities

They expected about 40 applicants to pre-register, but they ended up with well over 125, highlighting the need for employment within the disability community.

A first-time career fair was held for people with disabilities in Yonkers to apply and interview with businesses. 
Westchester County organized the event at the Yonkers Riverfront Library. 
They expected about 40 applicants to pre-register, but they ended up with well over 125, highlighting the need for employment within the disability community.  
The fair is meant to build a more compassionate workforce and give people the opportunity to apply for jobs in an inclusive environment.  
Employers who attended the event included New York Presbyterian Hospital, Amazon, CVS and ShopRite.  
This event was a pilot program through Westchester County, which hopes to create more job fairs for diverse abled individuals in other parts of the county.
