A driver is lucky to be alive this morning after crashing into a telephone pole and eventually into a home in Pearl River.
Officials say it was around 11  a.m. today when a female driver lost control on Highland Avenue, knocked down a telephone pole, spun around, hit a pile of firewood on a front lawn, and then smashed into a home on Crooked Hill Road.
Despite considerable damage to the car and the house, no one was seriously injured in the accident.
Ramapo Police and the South Spring Valley Fire Department responded to the scene and say the driver was checked out in an ambulance. They say the homeowner was inside his house at the time, but was not hurt.
Police have closed Highland Avenue and Crooked Hill Road as utility crews restore power to the neighborhood.
