The rental car involved in the deadly Dominican Republic crash that involved two travelers from Mount Vernon has been recovered from the Caribbean Ocean.
Authorities say Orlando Moore, 43, and Portia Ravenelle, 52, were in the car when it plunged off of a road on March 27. They were on their way to the airport.
Police say the vehicle pulled from the water matches the VIN number of the car Moore and Ravenelle had rented.
A black iPhone was also recovered from the water. Officials are working to see if it belonged to one of the victims.
Moore's family has started a GoFundMe page to help bring his body home. It has already raised more than $7,000.
