A 22-year-old woman was hit by a car just before 7 a.m. Thursday on Lafayette Avenue in Suffern.

Police say the woman was crossing the street near Park Avenue when she was hit.

The woman suffered head and leg injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
