A car crash this morning created power outages and school delays in the town of Ramapo.
Police say a car was traveling west on New Hempstead Road, near Route 45, when it lost control and struck a utility pole early this morning.
Nobody was injured, but most of the neighborhood lost power including three schools in the East Ramapo School District. News 12 was also told that officers were directing traffic in areas where traffic lights weren’t not functioning.
Officials say New Hempstead, Summit Park and Grandview Elementary schools opened after a two-hour delay.
