Cannabis Growers Showcase in White Plains allows legal purchase of marijuana in Westchester County

The road to legalization in New York has been a bumpy one because as soon as licenses were given to dispensaries, injunctions halted the program immediately. This left growers who were given the go-ahead to start growing with an over supply and no place to sell it.

Westchester County residents can now buy marijuana legally, but not at a dispensary.
The Cannabis Growers Showcase at 244 Main St. in White Plains is now officially open for business.
"You can find a wide array of cannabis products here from drinks to edibles, to flowers, to tinctures, to pills, pretty much everything under the sun," says Raphael Bassalobre, of Cannabis Growers Showcase.
The road to legalization in New York has been a bumpy one because as soon as licenses were given to dispensaries, injunctions halted the program immediately. This left growers who were given the go-ahead to start growing with an over supply and no place to sell it.
"The office of Cannabis Management for New York state created a program called the Cannabis Growers Showcase, allowing the partnership between licensed dispensaries and growers to showcase their products and make them available to the customers," Bassalobre explains.
That's how the grand opening of this showcase was made possible.
"I am New York state's only licensed cannabis ganjier, which is very similar to a wine sommelier," says Jonathan Seti. His goal is to make this a very personalized experience.
"We want to educate you, we want to make sure that you leave here comfortable with the products you bought, comfortable in knowing how to take or dose those edibles or drinks or cannabis pre-roles," Seti says.
By buying at Cannabis Growers Showcase, the goal is for customers to also buy peace of mind.
"We know exactly where the plants are coming from, all the products are fully tested by the state and it's completely safe to consume," Bassalobre says.
The showcase will be open thru Dec. 31.
