A cab driver was robbed and brutally attacked with a knife in Yonkers overnight.
According to investigators, the driver picked up the passenger, described as a black man in his 40s, somewhere in Yonkers. The man asked to be taken to Cedar Place and when they arrived around 1 a.m., the passenger demanded the driver hand over all his money. Cops say the suspect then stabbed the driver several times in the stomach and ran off. They say the driver was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx in serious, but stable condition .
Investigators say it isn't clear if the driver was stabbed inside the car or out on the street, but there was considerable amount of blood on the street.
Police think the suspect got away with about $150.
Police tell News 12 that detectives have some very good leads and hope to have the suspect in custody soon.
