A building set to be torn down caught fire in Pleasantville early this morning.
Fire officials say they got the call around 4:30 a.m. on Vanderbilt Avenue and Manville Road in the heart of downtown Pleasantville.
The owner tells News 12 the building was actually scheduled for demolition tomorrow.
He said he plans to put a three-story building there with more than 70 units.
First responders say that, as far as they know, no one was inside, so officials are not expecting any injuries.
Vanderbilt Avenue is closed at Manville Road, and Grant Street is closed at Depew Street - that’s the entrance to the Saw Mill Parkway.
