Two days after he was arrested for allegedly driving drunk in New Rochelle, cellphone video showed Mount Vernon Building Commissioner Daniel Jones inside City Hall Thursday after the mayor's office told News 12 he was not at work.
A police report says Jones was arrested Tuesday night driving a 2017 Ford Explorer, which sources say is a city vehicle, on Pelham Road near the Glen Island Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation. He allegedly struck a parked car and a tree, then drove onto the sidewalk and almost hit a nursing home employee. His blood alcohol level was allegedly almost twice the legal limit.

Jones stayed silent in court Wednesday before a judge suspended his license. According to the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, Jones has eight open suspensions on his license, including failing to pay a driver responsibility assessment, failure to pay New York state tax, child support, two fines and three summonses in Brooklyn and Long Island.

News 12 reached out to the mayor, the City Council president, members of the City Council and the city comptroller, who Jones reportedly had a feud with earlier this week. All of them refused to go on camera.
