A massive coronavirus testing program will begin today allowing some Buffalo Bills fans to attend Saturday's home playoff game.
Up to 6,700 fans will be allowed in which about 10% of the Bills Stadium's capacity. All fans must test negative within 72 hours of kickoff.
A stadium parking lot has been converted into a testing site for today and tomorrow. "There will be 30 lanes of traffic so that we can move people in relatively quickly, in and out," says Dr. Jon Cohen, BioReference executive chairman.
Dr. Cohen hopes that similar testing can help other venues. "Broadway, opera, movie houses, restaurants, other types of venues can begin to open with other testing schemes."
Gov. Andrew Cuomo is also calling it a first-in-the-nation pilot program.
