Bronxville's chief of police helped bust a suspected burglar himself Wednesday.
Bronxville police say Raymond Velez, 41, stole several expensive items from a Park Avenue home on March 30. Among the things taken were two MacBooks and jewelry.
Police Chief Christopher Satriale says a 16-year-old witness described seeing a suspect leaving the home with a black bag full of stolen goods.
The description led investigators to red-light camera surveillance video that captured a car fleeing the scene, police say.
Satriale says he saw that car two days ago in Thornwood, while he was off duty and out to dinner.
Police arrested Velez and later recovered the stolen items from inside his home in the Bronx, according to officials.
