Bedford police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man accused of robbing a church during a holiday Mass.
Collection money was allegedly stolen from a private room during a New Year's Eve Mass at Saint Joseph's in Bronxville.
Officials say the suspect stole the collection money during Mass. He allegedly took $2,000 from a donation bag.
Police say he then went to the safe, which was unlocked. The entire incident was captured on video.
Father Peter McGory says the stolen money would have benefited several charities in the area.
Church officials believe the suspect was communicating with another person who was on the lookout for security.
According to church officials, Bedford police have the surveillance tape and are investigating.
