Bronx's Mosholu Montefiore Community Center delivers food to hundreds ahead of Thanksgiving

The Mosholu Montefiore Community Center (MMCC) in the Bronx held a turkey drive Monday that brought in hundreds of people looking to fill their Thanksgiving dinners.

The Mosholu Montefiore Community Center (MMCC) in the Bronx held a turkey drive Monday that brought in hundreds of people looking to fill their Thanksgiving dinners.
The need for food for the holiday season is strong throughout the city and just the main course, but also plenty else.

"In addition to the pantry bags, we also give out fresh fruits and veggies. That's also an issue here in the Bronx, affordable access to fresh fruits and veggies, so we gave them a whole meal. That's something they don't have to worry about for the holiday season," says Africa Dawson, pantry coordinator at MMCC.
The Mosholu Montefiore Community Center tells News 12 they're planning on having another food drive during the month of December.
