Westfield Avenue and Garden Drive on the North End of Bridgeport were blocked to vehicle traffic Wednesday afternoon following a two-car crash involving a Bridgeport police cruiser. The police officer who had been driving the cruiser was taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center with injuries not considered life-threatening, police told News 12. The driver of the other car fled the scene on foot but was later arrested, police said. The police officer was responding to another call when the accident took place, police said.
