The head of a Bridgeport nonprofit is aiming to promote good health through the $160,000 federal grant he received.
Dr. Dana Wade's mission is to help prevent diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
"For me, it's another way to give back to the community – it's to dedicate my life to help others who are not fortunate enough to have what I had," Wade says.
Wade was born in Cameroon, but was adopted by missionary parents who gave him advantages in life.
He says he is focused on an afterschool program at the Cardinal Shehaan Center to teach children healthy eating habits
