As the government shutdown enters its third week, the beer industry is feeling an impact.

Beers cannot be sold out of state because the Tax and Trade Bureau is closed.

"So, if you're a Hudson Valley brewery and you want to send your beer for example, to Connecticut or New Jersey, you would need the Tax and Trade Bureau, to apply for your label you put on your beer," says Yonkers Brewing Company owner John Rubbo.

The TTB's website greets visitors with a message explaining submissions will not be reviewed or approved until funds return.

Rubbo is also a city councilman whose brewery crafts nearly a dozen in-house malt beverages. He says small breweries will continue to hurt as long as the shutdown continues.

Rubbo says he is not affected because his beer is only sold in New York, but others are not so lucky.
