The dilapidated Boyce Thompson property along Executive Boulevard in northwest Yonkers is getting a multimillion-dollar make-over.
Developer Joe Simone, who bought the aging 6-acre site, held a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday outlining his vision to keep the integrity of the building intact and build around it.
Simone says he is making room for medical offices, retail stores, two restaurants and an 18,000-square-foot glass greenhouse.
The site, which was built in 1924, was once a thriving plant research facility. It was abandoned in the late 1970s.
Simone say he hopes to have the project completed in 20 months.
