A boil water advisory will remain in effect through at least Thursday for residents in Southwest Yonkers.
The advisory was issued following a major water main break that happened Sunday night between Axminster Street and Ashburton Avenue. Officials say the break caused a drop in water pressure, raising concerns about possible contamination.
The Westchester County Health Department says between 50,000 and 70,00 people are affected.
Residents are advised to boil tap water for at least a minute before drinking or using it for food.
