One of the county's biggest charity events of the year kicked off Friday morning at Blythedale Children's Hospital.
Blythedale Children's Hospital has been hosting the charity concert that raises money for the children's hospital for 23 years.
The Christmas concert was a star-studded event that featured acts like Harry Connick Jr. and Rob Thomas, a Bedford resident, who says he arranged his touring schedule to attend the concert.
"Over the last 15 to 16 years I get to know these kids; I know their parents," says Thomas. "I know what they're going through."
The concert is a chance for families of children dealing with serious issues like cancer, traumatic injuries and disabilities to get into the holiday spirit.

"You get to come back and see the kids that get to go home, the kids that come back to visit," says Thomas. "For me, the Christmas [season] doesn't really start now until Blythedale starts."
