The Black Women’s March was one of hundreds of protests across the nation this year.
This country hasn’t seen such high rally turnouts since the anti-war protests of the 70s.
"Being able to do this and to have my voice be heard is something that I hope to do more," said protester Valeria Mondesir, of Rockland County.
While protesters were unable to cross the Mario M. Cuomo Bridge as part of the Black Women’s March due to police resistance, organizers say the event was peaceful and successful.
State police say there were no arrests or injuries.
