Temperatures hovering around the freezing mark created treacherous driving conditions around the Hudson Valley Tuesday.
Periods of warmer temperatures during the day caused some snow to melt and then later freeze to create black ice on many roadways.
Police are working to determine if black ice played any role in a crash in Pleasantville on Monday. They say an SUV and pickup truck collided just before 7 p.m. on Route 117 and Beech Hill Road. The crash resulted in minor injuries.
Safety officials cautioned drivers to budget extra time on roadways and to be mindful for possible icy situations.
