With a flip of the calendar comes a very cold first week of December. Highs will be near 40 degrees through Thursday after very cold mornings, but it will feel much colder at times even during the afternoons with breezy conditions on and off all week. Most of the week ends up dry.
As long as you have a winter coat, gloves and hat through Thursday you will be fine. A weak weather system will bring a chance for mixed snow and rain showers Wednesday night into Thursday. A worst-case scenario at this point would be slippery conditions Thursday from less than one inch of snow. With highs around 42 on Thursday, it is really the morning that would be more slippery, and we do expect rain to be mixing in throughout the day.
Once this weak system moves out, it will usher in an even colder airmass for Friday through Sunday. These days, dressing in layers will be a must! Highs on Friday will be in the low 30s, but it will feel like the teens with windy weather Friday, too. It stays bitterly cold through Sunday before temperatures rebound a bit into next week.
