A bill that would provide greater oversight to the East Ramapo schools in exchange for $3 million in state aid now awaits Gov. Andrew Cuomo's signature.
The measure gives the state education commissioner the ability to keep a team of state monitors in the troubled school district.
The law was introduced earlier this week after months of negotiations over how to help improve East Ramapo's finances.
There's been many complaints about members of the Orthodox Jewish community dominating the school board.
