In the world of politics, the Hudson Valley took center stage this weekend, highlighted by a visit from President Joe Biden.

The president attended a rally for Gov. Kathy Hochul Sunday as the country is now just one day from Election Day.

New York's gubernatorial candidates were pulling out all the stops this weekend to energize their supporters and try to win over important undecided voters. It’s the undecided voters who are expected to make the difference in what is now a close race.

President Biden came to Sara Lawrence College in Yonkers to stump for the Democratic incumbent. In recent days, other heavy Democratic hitters, such as Hillary Clinton and Vice President Kamala Harris, have made appearances on Hochul's behalf.

Meanwhile, the Republican challenger, Congressman Lee Zeldin was also campaigning in the Hudson Valley over the weekend - spending time in Dutchess, Orange and Putnam counties. Zeldin has also had big names from the GOP campaigning for him including, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Virginia Gov. Glen Younkin.

The fact that all these stars from both political parties are making appearances indicates just how very tight this race has become.

The Democrats are pushing the message of abortion rights and gun control, while the Republicans are talking inflation, crime and the border crisis. "Democracy is literally on the ballot,” was Biden’s message.

"We are going to fire Kathy Hochul, we're going to end one party rule, we are going to save our state and return it to glory," was the Zeldin's pitch.
