Beach season extended at Smith Point County Park, Tobay Beach

Suffolk County is extending the season at Smith Point County Park. Lifeguards will remain on the stands from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 10-11 and Sept. 17-18.

The summer season will continue a little bit longer at some Long Island beaches.
Suffolk County is extending the season at Smith Point County Park. Lifeguards will remain on the stands from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 10-11 and Sept. 17-18.
Tobay Beach will remain open the weekend of Sept. 10 and 11, with free admission to the beach and concerts. There will be a waterfront festival at Tobay on Sept. 10, with a free concert featuring Jimmy Kenny and the Pirate Beach Band, the ultimate beach party tribute band to Jimmy Buffet, Kenny Chesney and the Zac Brown Band. The day of free family fun will feature marine and outdoor exhibits, a children's snapper derby, police boat demonstrations and much more. The festival will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
