Despite some sunny breaks, keep that umbrella in reach.  Could that weather impact your weekend plans?

Keep the sunglasses and the umbrella with you today! A passing shower is possible at any point but keep the outdoor plans through the afternoon. The good news about this next storm is that the bulk of the rain and thunderstorm chance is moving through during the overnight hours. That said, if you are traveling after around 10 p.m. tonight or getting an early start tomorrow morning, you will have to slow down travel due to scattered ponding of water from heavy rain and a few scattered thunderstorms.
Most of today will be fine, but with a quick rain shower chance throughout the day. It will also feel warm with high temperatures in the mid to upper 70s.
Following tonight's and tomorrow morning's rain, I am optimistic about tomorrow afternoon and evening's weather! There can be an isolated shower or storm in the afternoon but keep the outdoor plans with most of the afternoon and evening on the drier side. The high tomorrow will be near 70 degrees.
The start of June and meteorological summer will be near average to slightly below average temperature-wise between Sunday and Monday. That said, there is a nice warmup that arrives starting Tuesday with highs in the upper 70s to mid-80s through the end of next week.
FORECAST:
TODAY: A mix of clouds and breaks of sunshine. Warm with a passing shower at any point but keep the outdoor plans for the afternoon. Highs around 76 degrees.
TONIGHT: STORM WATCH -- Scattered showers during the evening give way to steadier, at times heavier, rain and a thunderstorm chance after around 10 p.m. Pockets of heavy rain continue overnight. Scattered ponding possible. Lows around 58 degrees.
SATURDAY: STORM WATCH -- Steady rain winds down during the early to mid-morning hours. The afternoon is not a washout! Keep the outdoor plans for now. While a spotty shower or isolated thunderstorm is possible in the afternoon, much of the afternoon will be decent with breaks of sun and high temperatures around 70 degrees. Rain totals will be anywhere from 0.5 inches to close to 2 inches where heavier downpours move through. Lows near 51 degrees.
