A major excavation project is underway in Baychester, but the long overdue roadwork is creating a parking nightmare.
Temporary curb restrictions are now in effect along Boller Avenue from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. for at least the next month. The city's Department of Department of Design and Construction says the eastbound lane will also be shut down during those times.
Many residents call the roadwork a necessary evil because although it's an inconvenience, the condition of the road has been rapidly deteriorating.
The DDC is promising to make the project as painless as possible for neighbors by providing permit parking spots nearby. It's also placing a crew member at the site to monitor noise levels, address people's concerns and communicate progress.
