Police are searching for suspects who vandalized a park in Mount Vernon.
At least one person tore up the tiles on the basketball court at the Fourth Street Park sometime between 10 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday.
Located on Eighth Avenue and Fourth Street, the park was the city's premier basketball facility. Last month, the city installed new matting thanks to a $60,000 community development block grant. Members of the city's Recreation Department spent the day repairing the court.
Mount Vernon police are offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible.
