A physical education teacher at Yonkers Middle High School was arraigned on two charges of second-degree harassment and one charge of endangering the welfare of a child on Wednesday in Yonkers City Court.
According to District Attorney Susan Cacace, the allegations against 59-year-old Matthew Hausman, of Somers, took place between October to April.
The DA alleges Hausman sent predatory texts and harassed one of his female students for several months.
According to the indictment, Hausman is accused of calling the victim an expletive and commenting about putting a dog collar on her.
It also alleges he texted the victim that, "he had her schedule and 'now could be a stalker (if I [he] had the time).'"
He was arraigned and pleaded not guilty Wednesday in Yonkers City Court.
The Yonkers Public School District said it couldn't comment due to ongoing litigation.
Hausman's attorney and family also said "no comment."
DA Cacace urges anyone who may have had a similar interaction with Hausman to contact her office at 914-995-TIPS (8477).
