A Mount Vernon teenager was arrested for allegedly bringing a gun to his high school, and police say he is also linked to the shooting of a 16-year-old.
According to police, 18-year-old Christopher Guy left a loaded 9 mm semiautomatic pistol outside a window at Mount Vernon High School Thursday night. Police say Guy later retrieved the weapon, which was in a knapsack, when he was inside the school.
Guy has also been charged with attempted murder in the shooting a 16-year-old two blocks from the school Wednesday. Police say the two attended different alternative education programs and had a history. However, they say they don?t know the exact incident that sparked the shooting. Mount Vernon Police Commissioner David Chong says, ?It appears that this particular person had the weapon for his own protection.?
The victim of Wednesday?s shooting is recovering at Westchester Medical Center with arm and leg wounds. To view a news conference on the shooting, go to channel 612 on your iO digital cable box and click on iO Extra.
