‘Back the Blue’ rally draws police supporters to Tarrytown
A “Back the Blue” rally was held on the waterfront in Tarrytown Saturday afternoon, drawing hundreds of police supporters.
Jim O’Sullivan, who organized the event, said that it was held to “recognize the hard-working men and women in the police departments across Westchester, Rockland and New York City."
Rockland County Executive Ed Day was also in attendance. There were also many who support President Donald Trump for reelection.
O’Sullivan told News 12 that Democracy is “at stake in this election.”
Similar rallies have been held in communities across the nation after the police-custody death of George Floyd over the summer that sparked protests and a movement to “defund the police.”
