A 6-month-old baby died after being thrown from a window Thursday afternoon in the Bronx.
It happened at around 2 p.m. at 2200 Tiebout Ave. in the Tremont section of the Bronx, according to investigators.
Police identified the baby girl as Julinah Lawrence.
Officials say the child's 27-year-old mother, Tenisha Fearon, is in custody in connection with the incident.
Police say numerous 911 callers reported that a woman was holding a baby out of the window in the back of the building.
Police arrived to find the baby had been dropped. Fearon's three other children were found inside that apartment, and police say they are now safe.
Last month, a similar incident occurred, in which a Yonkers woman, Jennifer Berry, was charged with murder after police say she threw her newborn daughter from a seventh-floor window in the Bronx.
Dr. Harris Stratyner is a psychologist who practices in Manhattan and Westchester County. He says the women's behavior could be attributed to a long history of mental illness.
In the latest incident, he says the mother was seemingly psychotic. He advises that if neighbors witness something unusual, it is best to call for help.
