TV and film star James Cromwell was one of two people escorted from an Orange County award event for protesting a power plant, according to a published report.

The Times Herald-Record of Middletown reports that the 75-year-old Emmy Award winner was tossed out of the Orange County Partnership's Annual Award Event at Anthony's Pier 9 on Tuesday.

Cromwell, who owns a home in Orange County, and another protester were removed while voicing their opposition to CPV Valley Energy Center's new gas-fueled power plant in Wawayanda. They say a natural gas-fired electricity plant is a threat to the environment.

Cromwell was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for 1995's "Babe," and won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie for his role in "American Horror Story: Asylum."
