Monticello police officers rescued a man Saturday morning in a wheelchair from a burning apartment building.
Police say they received a report around 8:30 a.m. that smoke was coming from an apartment at the Monticello Housing Authority Complex.
When officers arrived at the scene, authorities say they entered through the front door and pulled out the 69-year-old man in a wheelchair.
The Monticello Fire Department arrived soon after and extinguished the fire, according to authorities.
