State police officials today announced that New York's "move over" law, which requires drivers to switch lanes when they see emergency vehicles with flashing red lights, will now also apply to hazard vehicles.
Vehicles such as tow trucks will be covered by the law's expansion. State police officials say their main objective is to get drivers home safe.
The fine for not switching lanes is $275. Traffic-safety law aims to protect officers
