Athletes from all over the globe are converging in Westchester for the 2009 JCC Maccabi Games.
At least 8,000 Jewish teens will be competing in the Olympic-style event, which is hailed as the biggest Jewish teen event across the globe. On Sunday, they arrived at the JCC of Mid-Westchester for check-in for more than a dozen sports including basketball, swimming and soccer.
Organizers say the games are more than just athletics; they also promote community involvement, teamwork and pride. The games run until Aug. 21.
