Aspiring sheriff pleads guilty in fraud case

A candidate for Putnam County sheriff who dropped out of the race has pleaded guilty to election fraud. Andrew Destefano was immediately sentenced to 100 hours of community service and a $1,000 fine.

A candidate for Putnam County sheriff who dropped out of the race has pleaded guilty to election fraud.
Andrew Destefano was immediately sentenced to 100 hours of community service and a $1,000 fine. Destano pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges for nominating petitions he filed with the Board of Elections.
Destefano is not allowed to run for public office for five years.
